An animated short designed to resemble a handmade stop-motion film despite being created almost entirely in CGI. The story explores the relationship between traditional animation, CGI, and emerging AI tools through the tale of an animator who fakes stop-motion digitally, earning the ire of the "animafia" - a group of old-school stop-motion enforcers.

The challenge was to make a digital production feel convincingly physical and handcrafted. Motion-capture performance formed the basis of the character animation before being processed to evoke stop-motion movement. Lighting, lenses, set design, and surface detail were carefully developed to create the illusion of a miniature tabletop production. The final reveal exposes the stop-motion aesthetic as a digital fabrication, turning the film into both a tribute to traditional animation and a reflection on the future of animation…
